Broom Making: “You Will Be Swept Off Your Feet”
Richard Henson

Bio:
Richard is well known nationally as a motivational speaker, humorist, storyteller and craftsman. He is the third generation broom maker at the renowned Henson Broom Shop and General Store located in Symsonia, KY. The business was started in 1930 by his grandfather, continued by his father, and now, Richard has the pleasure of working with his son to continue the business through the 4 th generation. Richard has been featured on countless television appearances across the country. In1993, PBS television filmed a documentary about the heartwarming story. He has also been written about in numerous magazines, newspapers and books and is now in high demand as a motivational speaker, humorist and storyteller for the corporate business world, school systems, civic organizations, historic sites, and other gatherings of all kinds.

Course Description:
Come join us in learning the history and evolvement of broom making. During this class, students will learn the business of broom making as well as learn how to make an actual broom.
