Glass: “Let’s Kick Some Glass”
Donna Branch
Bio:
Donna Branch’s glasswork has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally including “the Red Clay Survey” in Huntsville, Alabama’s Museum of Art as well as in the Montgomery Museum of Art. In addition, her work is many private collections. As an award-winning artist, Donnas has been featured in Southern Living Magazine and will be featured in an upcoming segment on HGTV.
Course Description:
Students will learn the basics of design and studio practice as they create their own unique pieces of kiln formed glass. Subjects, which will be covered, will include preparation of kiln shelves, glass selection, glass cutting, and heating and cooling schedules. After the class, each student will have a thorough knowledge of the art of kiln formed glass and will have completed several projects such as cabochons for jewelry, small glass “paintings” and wine stoppers. Beginners welcome!
