Mosaic and Fused Glass: “For the Garden and Body”

Course Description:
In this weeklong class, students will learn the ancient art of making stained glass mosaic art. The skills of glass cutting, gluing and grouting will be covered with special emphasis on safety. Students will also have the opportunity to learn glass fusing using a kiln. Students will learn design techniques and will leave at the end of the week with a beautiful stepping stone, a small wall hanging, and several pieces of fused glass jewelry, pendants and earrings. All skill levels are welcome!
Bio:
Linda has taught mosaic art to adults and children both in her studio in York, Alabama and at Meridian Museum of Art. She has, also, taught mosaic arts to adults at the Ferguson Center at the University of Alabama in the past and glass fusing at Orbix Glass Studio in Fort Payne, Alabama. Linda’s work can be seen at several galleries in the state: Kentuck Gallery in Northport, Bear Creek Glass in Birmingham, Blackwood Gallery in Springville, AL, Mountain Mama's in Cloudland, GA, Blackbelt Treasures in Camden, AL, Orbix Glass in Fort Payne, and at my studio in York, Al.
