Mosaics: “Telling a Story with Stones, Twigs, Tiles and Much More”
Donna Branch
Course Description:
This class will explore history, design, southern roots, materials and techniques that are used to depict a picture or tell a story with pieces of stone, twigs, tile, or anything else we can get our hands on! Each student will come to fully understand the fantastic potential of the mosaic technique, through completion of 2D or 3D projects of their choosing: for example a mosaic candleholder or wall hanging. If the student has materials they wish to incorporate into their project they are more than welcome to bring them.
Bio:
Donna Branch’s glasswork has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally including “the Red Clay Survey” in Huntsville, Alabama’s Museum of Art as well as in the Montgomery Museum of Art. In addition, her work is many private collections. As an award-winning artist, Donna has been featured in Southern Living Magazine and will be featured in an upcoming segment on HGTV.
Extra supplies fee: $125
