Painting: “ Outdoor Adventure (plein air art) in the medium of students choice”
Barb Valentine

Course Description:
Have fun painting outdoors. Choose your medium and paint to your hearts content. Learn about basic artistic techniques and specific challenges when painting plein air.

Bio:
Barb spent many years in Michigan in the educational realm. After receiving a degree in music, she earned an MA in education. She is now a full time artist living in Alabama. Barb has studied with many artists including a student of Daniel Green, world class artists: Frank Frederico, Carla O’Conner, Nita Engle, Marie Cumins, Lana Grow, and Terry Ludwig. She is a member of the Alabama Water Color Society, the Vestavia Hills Art Club, the Alabama Pastel Society, Experimental Artists of America, and Artist Colony. Barb has won awards for her water media and pastels. Her works can be found online (link below) and at 4 Seasons Antiques and Art in Bluff Park, AL as well as the Lily Pond in Curry, AL. Barb believes that an artist feels the need to create. Paintings are a source of fulfillment, enjoyment, contemplation and wonder for the artist and the viewer. Imparting knowledge and skills to students, is the greatest achievement.

Extra supplies fee: depends on how many supplies student already has. Teacher will speak with before hand.
