Pottery: “ Wheel Throwing for Beginners”
Sandra Heaven

Course Description:
Learn the basics of transforming your lump of clay into vessel and experience one of the most ancient crafts. You will learn to make plates, saucers, bowls, handles and much more. You will surprise yourself in the discovery of y our own talents. Have fun playing in the mud! No experience is necessary, but advanced students are also welcome! Just come prepared to get dirty.

Bio:
After teaching elementary school for 9 years, Sandra started her own business and taught private classes for 5 years. After this she decided to pursue her dream of teaching college students and became the Director of the Art Department at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL. During this time she accumulated another 2 years of graduate studies in Studio Art at A&M university in Huntsville, AL and the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. Ms. Heaven retired in December 2004 after 16 ½ years at Wallace State. She now owns and runs Heaven and Earth Pottery with the help of her husband, Roy Rodgers which has grown from a small farmers market business to nearly 50 different locations in the South East US.
