Margaret Heathman

Course Description:
Come and learn the art of knitted lace. Throughout the centuries, lace has been the epitome of fine needlework. Here is your opportunity to follow in the footsteps of history while using your knitting skills to create beautiful lace for today’s lifestyles. We will explore the creation of lace and the use of fine yarns by beginning a lace sampler scarf and knitting a snowflake. Throughout the class, there will be discussion about the many uses of fine-to-medium-weight yarns for knitting lace as embellishments, accessories, decorative items and garments. Prerequisites: Students should be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and know a knit stitch from a purl stitch simply by looking at it.
