Soap Making: “Creating Herbal Cold-Process Soaps
and Natural Candles”

Course Description:
Individuals will learn how to safely make herbal soaps using sodium hydroxide, essential oils and natural colorants. Students will also experience natural candle making as a group activity. Each student will make enough soaps to take home for personal use or unique gifts & and pair of candles.
Bio:
Cheryl is a local who lives at Simple Life Farm which was homestead in 1890 in the Appalachian Foothills of Northwest Alabama. Simple Life Farm is dedicated to the belief that the simple things in life provide the greatest joys. Since 1988 they have created natural soaps and body care products using farm raised ingredients such as fresh goats’ milk from their own herd of Nubian goats, natural botanicals from their herb garden and forest areas, as well as beeswax and honey from their own beehives.
