Beginning Painting: “Painting a Prettier World”

Course Description:
Learn to paint through holistic teaching methodology that systematically teaches students about the elements of art and the principles of design. You will learn to do this through works that progressively explore a variety or media while producing beautiful fine art pieces. The process involves visual literacy where you can further develop visual perception and critical thinking. During your week here you will be exposed to a variety of painting media in order to get the feel for the type you like the best. Come learn more about water colors, ink washes, water-soluble oil pastels and acrylics.
Bio:
Mary Catherine Watson is a contemporary artist with a flair for nature. Her love of art from around the world has influenced her own works and helped in to develop programs and instruction geared to bring alive the rich cultures of the past and savor the freshness of the present. Many of her works have mixed media and dimension making them extraordinary and unique. Catherine is a certified master teacher and has taught more than 1400 students ranging from kindergarten through collegiate levels.
