Marilynn Brandenburger is a professional artist whose
still-life and landscape paintings in watercolor and mixed media are in collections throughout the U.S. Her beautifully illustrated journals reflect her love of nature and provide inspiration for her paintings. Course Description:

DRAWING FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
Move past stick figures and begin to enjoy drawing! We'll cover fundamental drawing concepts and techniques in a cheerful and supportive environment. From the instructor's demonstrations and guidance in drawing simple, everyday objects, you'll learn about line, shading, proportion, perspective, and composition.  This is a good basic preparation for painting classes.  No experience needed

Extra supplies fee: Instructor will bring fixative, composition viewers, subject matter, etc. Estimated additional materials fee: $5

Please bring:

SUPPLIES LIST FOR DRAWING FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
Estimated cost of supplies: $25 - $40 
1. Four graphite drawing pencils: H, 2B, 4B, 6B (and any other pencils the student wishes to bring along, such as those that come in a set) 
2. Pocket-size or battery powered pencil sharpener 
3. Approx. 14” x 17” pad of white drawing paper.  No newsprint. 
6. Two kinds of erasers: a) a white plastic eraser (Recommended: Staedtler Mars) and b) a kneaded eraser (Recommended: Design brand).  No Pink Pearl. 
7. Medium size (“cigar” size) paper “stump” for blending and smudging 
8. 18” T-square
