Discovering the Dulcimer (Dulcimer I)
Allen McCord

Bio: Allen McCord
Allen lives in Auburn, Alabama and is a retired firefighter, carpenter, and cabinet builder. He now builds mountain dulcimers. Allen plays with two groups: the Whistle Stop Pickers (in Loachapoka, AL) and the Montgomery Dulcimer Players.

Course Description: This class will be for beginners who want to learn to play the Mountain Dulcimer in D-A-A tuning. Students will learn how to hold, tune, strum, and play melodies. No experience is necessary and dulcimers will be available to purchase or use for class.

Please bring: A music stand and tuner along with your dulcimer if you have them. Supplies will be available for purchase including, strings, picks, tuners, and books.

Extra supplies fee: None.
