ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

This position involves enabling, planning, and carrying out age-appropriate activities (afternoon and evening) This includes having activities ready and planned in the event of rain. This position is responsible for keeping an inventory of and maintaining all equipment. It is the Activities Director’s responsibility to make sure each activity has the necessary equipment. The Activities Director is responsible to the Head Counselor and to the SCC.

The Activities Director needs to:

  • be organized and attend to details
  • be creative and flexible
  • be able to recruit help from staff
  • make sure each activity has sufficient supervision
  • be able to organize large group activities, including “ice-breakers” at the beginning of each session
  • be able to plan several days in advance
