ROPES COURSE AND GROUP ACTION COURSE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ropes Course Director conducts and supervises all activities on the ropes course and the GAC and leads all overnight camping. The Ropes Course Director must have completed the Project Adventure Ropes and Group Action Course training. The Ropes Course Director must have either a current certification in Professional Rescuer or Wilderness First Aid Certification. The Ropes Course Director is responsible to the Head Counselor and to the SCC.

Specific duties of the Ropes Course Director include:

• plan and offer ropes and GAC activities for small groups and afternoon activities at age appropriate camps
• ensure the safety of all participants in ropes and GAC activities
• remain calm in emergency situations
• maintain control of a group
