Special Session Information

Special Session is for people with mental and physical disabilities from ages 8 to 80. It has been a part of the ministry of Camp McDowell since 1998.
A typical Special Session provides a place of unconditional love and acceptance for about 90 campers and 70 members of the staff. Many of these people, both campers and staff, come away knowing that the session was one of the best weeks of their lives. |

The staff comes two days before the campers, to train and make plans for the week. The real fun begins when the campers arrive, and we begin five days of crafts, swimming, hiking, singing and dancing, as we come together to form a loving community of the family of God in the beautiful setting of Camp McDowell.
