Ready for ADVENTURE? Come explore the wilds of Alabama with VentureOut! at Camp McDowell. Whether it's paddling down a clear creek, backpacking through sandstone canyons, or pitching a tent under the stars, Venture Out! is a great opportunity for young and old alike to experience the beauty and wonder of nature. Hi! My name is Alicia Hall and I am the Venture Out! Coordinator here at Camp McDowell. Originally from Stillwater, Oklahoma, I joined the McDowell Environemntal Center family in the fall of 2007. I have over ten years of wilderness experience and outdoor certifications. Some of my past trips include backpacking in the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, rock climbing in Montana, and leading canoe trips for youth in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin. I look forward to a great summer with you, your family, and friends as we Venture Out! together.
Summer 2009 is a summer of discovery! With 22 million acres of forests and over 77,000 miles of rivers and streams, Alabama is the place where adventures begin. Maybe you’ll carry a pack for the first time, catch an eddy with your canoe, or simply try food cooked over an open flame. Whatever trip you take, it’s sure to be a journey you'll remember for the rest of your life. Call or email us today to learn more!
